Alane's Go-to Vest Pattern

This vest pattern is easy to knit and easy to wear.  The gauge and drape of Jody Long Coastline yarn is perfect for this project.
This pattern is suitable for the advanced beginner knitter.
 
Gauge: 5sts = 1" on US 8 needle, or size needed to get gauge. 24" circular needle recommended.  j
Finished dimensions:  roughly 50" bust  x 25" length
Yarn:  5 balls Jody Long Coastline (218 yds, 100g each)
 
The easy peasy vest is knit from bottom of back and then separated at neck for 2 front panels.  The vest is knit flat and seamed along the sides to the arm hole.
 
Stitches used:  knit, purl, slipped stitches.
